I'm in the process of weaving a white/tan shawl. The white it Henry's Attic 2 ply Pony. Take a close look at the above picture. After winding off the warp I noticed the two cones of Pony were actually different shades of white. The sample on the right is much whiter than the one on the left. In this case I'm lucky because as I'm weaving with the tan mohair blouce and I can't even notice the difference and I'm quite sure once this shawl is washed this mistake will be unnoticeable.
What have I learned? Pay more attention to the details. This time I was lucky but might be the next time I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing. Speaking of not paying attention to what I'm doing. Last evening I put my tea pot on the stove to heat up some water for tea, came in the computer room to check my email. Half an hour later I go into the kitchen to a dry tea pot that's cooked fast to the burner. Again lucky!!! So today I was off to Walmart to pick up a new "whistling tea pot".

Why not make a weak tea brew and soak the cloth and 'dye' it after?
That way the two color differences will disappear.
Just an idea...
