MAY

Why I bother with Google Blogger is beyond me.  I've got some more photos I would like to share but it won't let me.  I guess I'll try again another day but right now I can't take any more.  Sorry about my complaining.  So above is a pair of sock I've finished for summer.  Light weight cotton in bright summer colors.

We have this lovely tree blooming right now but for what the name of it is.  Does any one know?

A lot of fellow knitters have posted photos of their really great wooden ball holders.  Well I have this old metal one I got along time ago at some flea market and works darn good even if its not wooden.

One of the things I've wanted to pass along for a long time is this little hint.  When I wind a skein of yarn to a ball winder I first put on a empty toilet tissue holder.  That way the yarn doesn't collapse into itself. Works pretty good for me.  The yarn I have on my holder is from Jimmy Bean's and I'm doing my for ever KAL shawl.  The yarn and pattern is inspired by Graig Na Dun and the Outlander books and Starz show.  Both by the way are wonderful.  I read all 8 books twice and can't wait until number 9 comes out.

I got three new heads from the good old Goodwill.  I love that place!  Two have long hair one short and right out of the new bags for only $13 a piece.  I think they are for hair dressers to practice on.

Time to get ready for church.  For all the ladies out there.  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!  I hope you have a great day.

Nice find on the mannequin heads! The ball winder is a very handy tool-the center of the ball collapsing is fine with me! Happy Mother's Day to you , too!

I should make a few pair of Summer cotton socks. Have yet to do that, for some reason. Very nice, and cheerful looking too.

Personally, I like your ball holder much better than the wooden ones that are all the rage right now. I use a small office trash can to put my balls of yarn in, because they would bounce right out of a bowl, even if I had one. How do I know this? Because there have been times when they have even bounced out of the small office trash can, which is much taller than any of those ball bowls. LOL

Happy Mother's Day to you too.

I think those might be apple blossoms, if my memory serves me. Haven't seen one since I was 6. Goodwill is one of my favorite places :)
