One of my favorite things to do is listen to audio books while I'm working around the house, outside or knitting.  Lately I've been lucky enough to download some very good books from The Dauphin County Library for free.  First was Fall Of Giants by Ken Follett.  It's the first book in the century trilogy. Starts off just before WWI following a Russian family, German family and an English family.  Takes the reader through the war and the events of that time as seen through three families.

Winter of the World follows these families through WWII and all the horrible events that took place during that war.

Edge Of Eternity is after WWII in Europe and the US especially the civil unrest ending with our current president.  I love these books and learned so much.  Along with history these action and romance. Right now I'm reading Ken Follett's book The Pillar's of the Earth and can't put it down.  The man is amazing author.

Next I listened to The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.  I was so caught up in the charters.  It's very hard to explain.  Love story and science fiction all rolled into one that will leave you crying at the end. Head over to Amazon if you'd like to buy any of these or your local library for some very good reads.

"Pillars Of The Earth" was made into a mini-series for TV maybe 2 years back. Great program. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, so I'm sure the book is even better. They generally are. :)

Thanks for the recommendation on Ken Follett. I'ven never read his books but think I may give them a try.
