This post is a rant.  Nothing about spinning, dyeing or knitting just me going on about something that's driving me crazy.  I got my new drivers license in March.  Shortly after I received a letter from PennDot telling me to cut it up and they issued me a new one.  I didn't cut it up and kept the letter.  Today with my new license in hand went to CVS to get some nasal decongestant containing pseudoephedrin hydrochloride one of the cold meds they keep behind the counter just in case I'm a druggie.  But I couldn't the meds.  Know why they new driver's license issued to me by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was NO GOOD.  My name was all screwed up.  They had my middle name first and my first name as my last name with no middle name at all.  Now they swiped that license when I was traveling this summer and also got my fishing license from Minnesota.  Go figure.  Now I'll sit on the phone tomorrow trying to straighten out this mess.  Thanks PennDot!

I found this over shot coverlet table cover at an antique - collectibles mall.  At one time I could have woven it but right now I don't have a loom wide enough or the energy to weave one.

I put my large wood bowl in the middle.  Looks great with out early American decor.

A couple of weeks ago we bought a metal rooster to put on one of our Hosier cupboards.  Does it fit?  No of course not so we needed to find a place for it.  It now rests on top of a 50 gallon lard can next to one of our Hosiers.

We planted around 50 trees on our one acre.  Why?  We love trees and have lived with them on our property every where we've lived.  The front of the house is nothing put pine trees to block the view and stop the wind from the west.  I don't think most people understand that trees are so important.  They shade our home, block the wind, and are the homes of a lot of animals and birds.  Any way I love the bark on this birch.

The white birch was attached with Japanese beetles again this year.  Usually we are home so we can set traps but this year we were on vacation when they invaded.  Funny how they only attach this tree but I suppose that's a good thing.  New leaves are coming out just in time for fall.

I can't believe it's August already.  Where is the summer going?  We went on vacation last month to my high school reunion.  It's been 50 years since I graduated from good old Minto High School.  We had such a good time catching up.  There were only 27 in our class so most of us knew each other from 1st grade through 12th.  Our old high school as been turned into the Walsh County Museum.  Great use of a very old three story brick building.  After the reunion we head up to Lake of the Woods in Minnesota.  My sister and her husband have a great summer home there.  This year Edmund put in a hand carved wooden totem pole.  Looks great close up and from out in the water.

A view from the boat.  Where they have their home there aren't any beaches but loads of rocks.  Did I catch a fish. NO!! And if that wasn't bad enough they wouldn't even give Bill a fishing license.  Something about inconsiderate information.  What is that all about???  Don't know because he was to mad to even call the phone number they gave him.

I haven't been idle.  I bought a small Addi circular knitter.  Makes the greatest scarves and head bands.  I think I finished four sets in as many days.

I'm also working on some had knitting mostly for myself.  This is a shawl I knit with a Raverly group KAL called Waves Gone Bye.  I'm not that excited about it.  It's hard to tell what the colors are but they are different shades of pink and white.

Some thing is sure didn't need was a Yarnit by Simply Socks Yarn Company.   This is it with the yarn in it.

The yarn is great.  You can't see from this picture but the ball is hiding some of the pink color in the yarn.  The bottom comes off to old markers and other small items you might need.  To cute to pass up.

Last but not least.  This is the pi shawl I've been working up for at least three weeks.  I'm on round 122 and working with over 500 stitches a round.  I think I'm only going to about round 140 then finish off with a couple of rounds of gull stitch.  Oh, and yes there are some mistakes but I won't tell if you won't.

On the book front.  I've just finished listening to 2 great books by D. A Meredith.  A Time Too Late and The Reckoning.  The McDade Family Chronicles.  I cried my eyes out when I finished The Reckoning last night.

I'm read the next in the Ken Follette series World Without End.  I've just started it but so far like the rest of Ken Follette books I am enjoying it.
